Hi everyone,
I'm needing a fusion T1-S1... I'm in Sydney. If anyone can recommend surgeons, can you please private message me.. Also can anyone recommend exercises to do before surgery. Thanks everyone x |

Hi Shaz,
I did the Sam Wood 28 program in the lead up to surgery. Its an exercise and food plan. its amazing and the exercised were very achievable (with having severe scoliosis!). Its 28 minutes of exercise a day (all done at home) - core strength and leg strength have been such a key to my recovery... Linda |

Good thanks!
10 weeks post surgery and heading back to work next week for a few hours to see how I go. Ribs and upper incision site is still really sore but great improvements each week. 28 program is fabulous, I just can't wait to be back exercising. My arm, leg and core strength has been a huge help and I don't want it to disappear! Did others recommend a surgeon for you in Sydney? Linda |

It's so great to hear your doing so well 10 weeks post op and going to back to work for a couple of hours.. I haven't heard from anyone in Sydney re, surgeons.. Maybe I need to move to Melbourne, everyone sounds so happy down there with the surgeons. I really need to get into exercising,as you said it has helped you in your recovery. the pain that I have just functioning is trying enough, I'm off to the gp for a review on pain meds, so hopefully I can find something that will allow me to exercise on a regular basis. Take a look at the website http://www.scoliosis-australia.org/s...lists.html#NSW this lists all the specialists that specifically specialise in scoliosis surgery. Also, re pain and exercise..... I found that I had pain whether I exercised or not so I thought best to just exercise....- obviously depending on individual circumstances... Thanks Shaz -keep me posted....
