Hi Brett

As the others, I will also be thinking of Victoria tomorrow, along with you and your family.

Hold on, and take care of yourself too. It is a big few days!

Your kind thoughts and wishes are very much appreciated, Victoria has been through so much over the past 12 months, we will all be relieved when it is all over. Thursday will be a very long day, 7 hour op should begin around midday.
Will keep you all posted on her outcome, Thankyou. Vics Dad, Brett.

Update on Victoria,
6 hour operation went well and Vic is now in Recovery room. She is finally on the road to be free from Scoliosis. She is in a lot of pain which is understandable, considering she had a full spine Fusion with 2 metal rods.
She has her own button to control pain which I'm sure will get a lot of use. Dr said her spine went from 86 degrees to approx 35, which is a good result, considering her angles. Victoria never complained once going into Theatre, and they even had Elvis music playing in the theatre room " it's now or Never ". Truly amazing what these drs can do for our precious little ones.
What a relief, will give you all an update in a few days, and once again Thankyou for all your kind words, it Helps . Vics dad, Brett xx

Sounds like a typical and uneventful surgery...the kind we like to hear about! So very happy Victoria is recovering and you all can now look ahead.

Please pass on a gentle hug to your girl

So glad everything is ok.
We are 10 weeks on and it just came flooding back to me reading your post.
My son has very little memory of most of the time in hospital thankfully but I remember it all. So so hard to see them go through it but knowing it will change their entire life for the better is what you can hang on to.
Hope the recovery goes as smoothly as possible for you all,
Liz

Victoria's first few steps today. Amazing achievement considering surgery was only a few days ago. So pleased to get to this stage, we were blessed to have a Surgeon that took control and advised the correct people and have the right measures in place for Victorias after care. And surprisingly did not need to have any discs removed from her spine, as the previous Dr wanted to do over a 2 day operation, whereas this time it was performed in 6 hours.
A rainbow was showing outside the Hospital while she was in Theatre, which was a sign to us that she was in good hands this time.
There really are Guardian angels watching over Victoria. Finding trust and faith in a Dr is one of the biggest hurdles with any operation, especially when it comes to your children.
Victoria now has all connecting tubes removed and only on tablets for pain relief. The Hospital staff are some of the most caring people you will ever find. Thanks.
Vics dad. Brett

Well done, Victoria....what an amazing and brave young lady you are
It's all just going to keep getting better for you from here and you'll be able to put scoliosis well and truly behind you. Brett, I'm so happy for you and your family that this has finally been dealt with. That rainbow sure was a sign that your lovely daughter is in good care.

Sending you all warm wishes and special healing energy to Victoria.

Helen
