Default 15 year old having surgery in May

I am new to this forum and I have been doing some research on other sites but I am still struggling to find a consistent answer for many questions so I was wondering if you could help
I am a keen dancer and I am hoping to get back to it as soon as I can, how long do you think it will be until I can start dancing after my surgery??
I am also struggling to find out approximately how long it will be until I can go back to school.
I also play netball and since it is suggested that you stay away from contact sport I was wondering how long it will be until I can start playing netball again. I know it is a non-contact sport but I am a defender and get bumped around a fair bit.
Hope you can help me answer these questions

Thank you for your enquiry

Your post in the general forum is noted and you mention you have a 68 degree curve, which is moderately severe.

Netball is considered by most spinal surgeons to be a contact sport and in general terms contact/collision/high impact sports are advised against after major scoliosis surgery.

There are many forms of dancing and presumably since you have been dancing from the time you were four years of age, your activity was in ballet. Again, a lot depends on the type of surgery which is done and the restrictions that the surgeon will place on you following the operation.

It is suggested that you send a letter to the surgeon posing the questions you have asked and ask that his response be left with his secretary to pass on to you. If this is not satisfactory to you, you should seek an appointment where you can discuss your specific concerns. I see that you are not scheduled for operation until May next year. You will be more settled in your mind when you have your questions answered.
