Hi there,

Our daughter had big surgery last year (6 hrs) we are from Newcastle, in Brisbane. We could have flown home easily day 7. But because they deflated her lung for Staples, we had to wait a week. We have lengthenings every 6 months and we fly home the next day. Our savior is one of those wrap around your neck pillows (ours is ladybeetle) We find it quite reosonable, just keep the panadol/nurophen up. We had oxycodiene but never needed to use it.

You were asking about dancing. My daughter had surgery in March and gradually returned to ballet and dancing after about 10 weeks but waited longer to do contemporary because of bending and twisting. The only limitations she now has is she can't bend backwards because of the rods. She is only fused from T5-L1 which still gives her movement in her lumbar spine. Hope this helps.
