Default how to deal with spasms

Hi

Have you any advice on how to get rid of back spasms 12 weeks post op? They started only a few weeks ago and are driving me batty. They can last all day and into the night. Heat helps and I try to tell my body to relax but thats hard in a go go person.

Thank you for your enquiry.

The symptoms you report should not be ignored.

You should leave a message with your surgeon's secretary that you have the late onset of what you have described as "spasms". To the Dr Scoliosis on duty a spasm means the sudden onset of a very painful contraction of a muscle. A nocturnal cramp, if you have ever had one, is a similar-type event. The presence of your back spasms may indicate that some action needs to be taken and I would not delay in getting in contact with your surgeon's office.
