Unhappy im 19 and my conditions deteriorating need help they dont want to operate

I'm 19 years old and i have two severe curves my largest being in the lumbar and a smaller one in the thoracic, I have a number of fused vertebrae in my thoracic section so i have very little movement throughout that top section of my back. I also have deformities all the way down to the very first vertebrae at the stem of mine spine. in 2011 it all went down hill i was bed ridden for two weeks struggling to walk or even make slight movements when I couldn't get in to see my specialist I started seeing a chiropractor and a myrotherapist which helped get me moving again but the pain has never ceased since and seems to only be getting progressively worse as I get older Ive seen a phsyio and under gone exercise phsyio and started my own exercise to strengthen my muscles in order to help with my pain management. so basically I'm in pain every day i struggle to find the energy to to get up most mornings and there's no way I can work all day then go out with friends like someone my age should be doing. i couldn't manage to do any work besides just retail or a desk job anything to intensive would be way to painful. just standing all day is painful enough.
so i guess my question is should i keep waiting for the specialists to decide it's bad enough and continue to worsen or seek other opinions i just really dont know what to do if anyone could suggest a good specialist would be much appreciated am happy to travel interstate as I'm desperate to feel better and have a more normal teenage life any suggestions much welcome thanks

You definitely don't want to continue to get worst throughout your adult life... is your specialist an orthopaedic surgeon? Honestly I would get a second opinion. I had mine done at the Royal Children's (I was 18 but think 19 would be pushing it) so can't suggest anyone but have a brilliant GP if you're in Melbourne who could refer you? She's incredible & knows everyone intimately so won't refer unless they're the top.

Hope you're ok - sounds dreadful
