Default Pilates and scoliosis

Hi everyone,

I'm 48 and I've been putting up with back pain for about ten years now. I finally went to a doctor 2 months ago and discovered that I have scoliosis and other spinal problems.

My neurosurgeon said that surgery with a complex spine surgeon may be necessary in the future. For now, she wants to try pain relief, physiotherapy and pilates. I was wondering if anyone has had any success with relieving pain through pilates. I have read a few negative articles on the internet about pilates and scoliosis and I'm unsure if I should try it.
