Default Hip pain

Hi Dr Scoliosis,
I have recently had revision surgery, decompression and extension of Harrington Rodfusion to the Pelvis. I have new pain in the hip, and down the front of the leg, which seems to get worse as the day goes on. It is 8 1/2 months since surgery. Should I be doing any exercises to strengthen my core or back muscles, is it safe to start swimming. (I only do backstroke). I am unable to sit for any length of time without pain. Will this ever get better?? My job involves sitting at a computer, so this has been a problem. Is it just a matter of time for healing, or are these things I should be concerned about?
