Thanks
An exhausting day starting at 5 this morning preparing for an 8 am ultrasound of the bladder and kidneys, then blood samples, ECG, pre-operation paper work, visits and questions and then all the bend test x-rays.
Met with the Doctor who explained (and showed) things to Dane. The screws go very close to the spinal cord which is frightening. The Doctor has had amazing reviews met heaps of people who speak highly of him. He is lovely to us and seems relaxed and confident.
I still worry about the left thoracic curve in a boy being less common - but seem to have found nothing extra to worry about (even though I have tried hard).
Today was emotionally and physically exhausting and juggling accommodation and travel for my husband and daughter separately will be difficult.
Anyway - we are set to go. Fingers crossed, prayers and confidence - will try to post again when I get access to internet.
Chris

Hi Chris,

The wait is the worst. Hang in there. All will be ok. If you need to catch up for coffee, Emily has lengthening on Wednesday, at (hospital name removed by Admin), in Brisbane. We will be in same hospital, at same time. PM me if you would like to meet. Be positive. They get better everyday.

Hi Christine, Would it be possible for me to borrow the book? My daughter has 2 curves, each 60 degrees and is having the surgery in Brisbane in February.

Thanks!
Margaret

Hi Margaret

Of course you can borrow the book

Chris, forum name is MySon, has it (son Dane had surgery recently) so drop her a line.

Gosh February will arrive quickly as it usually does!

It will be good that your daughter has a bit of time to prepare mentally and physically for the surgery. You and your family, too.

All the best!

Christine.

Hi Christine and Margaret

I am happy to be able to now pass the book onto another person.

Margaret - please email me via private message your address and I will send it through.

Christine (I hope you are feeling well and getting stronger for Christmas) thanks heaps for the use of this fabulous book.

Dane is going well - post operation check Monday week. He has been doing all normal fun activities at school now and no pain killers at all.

Merry Christmas to you both

Chris
