Default Re: My 14 daughter experiencing numbness and tingling

Thank you for your enquiry. Back pain is common in scoliosis and is usually a low grade back ache. It is most often noticed after activity or at the end of the day. It rarely interferes with function.

Your daughter's back pain sounds worse than that and should be investigated. The numbness she feels in her legs or shoulder is not typical of scoliosis and again, should be investigated. If the wait to see the Brisbane specialist is long, then I would get your daughter seen again by either the orthopaedic surgeon or her GP. An MRI scan of the spine may be necessary.
