Default management of scoliosis

Dear Dr. Scoliosis,
My daughter is 16 and recently we noticed her scoliosis. Looking back, her photos taken 12 months ago shows it but we had not noticed at that time. Her recent Xray shows cob angle of 39.7 (T7 to L1). At present, she has no medical complications.
(a) can this be managed without surgery?
(b) what are the chances of worsening if we opt not to have surgery?
(c) If we delay surgery, is surgery as effective in adulthood (late 20s)?
(d) what is the risk of chronic pain after surgery?

Thanks for your advice.
