Default Re: Concerned Nantobe

Hi I to have had 3 kids. Age 12, 10 and 3. All pregnancies were great and very short labours, although my 3rd was a c section as he was breach and 8 weeks early. My scoliosis was first noticed at the age of 13 and my degrees were 43 top and the lower was in the 30s. They didnt think that the bracing would help as the curve was too large and surgery at that time was not recommended, so it was just left. Really I have been very lucky as I have not been in any pain with it and it has not really bothered me until a few years ago. In 2006 when I was 30 I had it checked and it had progressed to 50 degrees, although it was a large curve it had only really progressed 7 degrees in the last 17 years.
Since 2006 ive had a few xrays and the radiographers report to the GP said my curve was about 48 dgrees, then in June this year I had another xray saying my curve was 46 degrees. Thinking it was great that my curve had not progressed i still was not happy with how it looked, and was really starting to hate it.
To cut a long story short, finally got around to taking out private insurence and saw a specialist in Brisbane. To my horror my curve is 68 degrees top and 30 some thing bottom, the one I had in June was the same. He told me that quite often the radiographers get it wrong, very wrong with mine. I have been told that surgery is really the only option for me as it will progress from now I will have to wait until next June as thats is a year from when we got out our insurence. So sorry for going on.
Any info will be great. O in 36 now and live on the Gold coast.
