hi, my 15 y.o. daughter is 4mths post-op, and experiencing a lot of pain, which she describes as like stabbing, sometimes tingling and not necessarily around her op-site. she is reluctant to take pain killers, but some days the pain really gets her down. any suggestions? we have already established that her rods and screws are in place through xray:sad:

Post operative pain is a part of spinal surgery, particularly in the first few weeks. Most people have stopped taking pain killers a month after the operation. Persistent pain like your daughter's is less common and the causes may be complex. Treatment is effective but needs to be tailored to the individual. Your daughter needs to see her surgeon again. She may be referred then to a pain management specialist.

I trust this information is helpful.
