Is it possible that curvature of the spine could cause intermittent problems with the sympathetic nervous system, such as vertigo, hot flushes, tingling in the legs, and occasional 'pinching' pain in the chest and legs?

Thank you for your enquiry.

I can confidently advise you that there is no relationship between scoliosis and disorders of the sympathetic nervous system. The symptoms you described could be attributed to many disorders and from what you have described it would be reasonable to discuss with your family doctor a possible referral to a neurologist.

I add that there are a number of neurological disorders, too numerous to list, which may have a scoliosis as part of the condition representing a manifestation of the underlying problem.

I trust this information is helpful.
