Default Support group contacts

We have had several enquires recently concerning support groups. Our forum itself acts as a large support group but certainly face-to-face contact can be helpful.

One way of establishing personal contact is to ask your treating specialist if you can be put in touch with other patients in the same position who are willing to chat by phone or in person.

Also, you may like to make enquiries of a support group contact here. This forum has been opened to list support group contacts in the one place.
Listed below are members who are currently running groups. A link to their post regarding their group is provided. From there you can email the member for information about the group meetings by clicking on their user name and using the drop-down menu. Should a member wish to start a support group, please contact me via private message about organising a listing.

From our perspective, an offline support group is best served as an environment in which members can share face-to-face their scoliosis journey and give practical advice and tips to others who are facing surgery or brace-wearing. If a group member requires credible medical advice, this should be sought from a medical doctor. We do not endorse medical information from non-medical sources.

This post would not be complete without a word of advice - a responsibility of any forum administrator, and in no way reflective of our members. Most people you meet online are genuine but it is always a good idea to meet in a populated, public place. It is our strong recommendation that adolescents always be accompanied by a parent or guardian when meeting other members offline. Keep personal contact information to a minimum until you get to know the group well. Members accept personal responsibility for the decision to meet offline.
